The Music Fountain lost its song

November 10, 2008 under Hopia Encounters

The Music Fountain has always been my favorite spot in Hangzhou’s West Lake. To friends and to everyone else, I always brag about how magnificently fascinating this dancing fountain is. Or was…

We’re in Hangzhou since noon time yesterday and we will still be staying here for the whole day. And last night, the Music Fountain ended our day’s tour. And I didn’t felt as good like our past two visits here because for some forsaken reason, the music fountain has no music at all. Just like an insane woman, the waters dance without music accompaniment.

I felt like being humiliated, lost my face in front of our guests, a family friend and my mother-in-law. Is this what I have been bragging to the world world? Is this what we chose over the beautiful landscapes in Suzhou or Nanjing?

I felt cheated. It seems like an aftermath of the government’s overspending during the Summer Olympics. So pathetic.
